The mission of the Glenn Miller Birthplace Society is to celebrate the memory of Alton “Glenn” Miller, America’s favorite musical patriot. Thus, a 5,600 square-foot museum was designed around the idea of the “Black Box” theater featuring a simple interior focused on the artifacts and exhibitions. A large multipurpose room is equipped with a video screen so that visitors can experience Glenn Miller’s life and music. The Glenn Miller Birthplace Museum is owned and operated by a non-profit foundation. Durable materials and efficient building systems were selected to reduce operation and maintenance costs as much as possible, so the memory of Glenn Miller may continue to touch people’s lives well into the future.
