Papillion-La Vista High School Addition & Renovation

Papillion La Vista Community Schools

Papillion, NE

2009 Completion

$12.7 Million

Papillion La Vista High School, home of the Monarchs, is fittingly crowned as the “old school” of Papillion and La Vista.  It has been a cornerstone in the urban fabric of the Papillion and La Vista area since 1971.  Since then, the two cities have grown substantially, requiring the high school to receive an expansion and renovation to accommodate students and a modern curriculum.

Additions on each of the four sides of the school, totaling 32,000 square-feet, provide the school with a new image.  The existing main entrance was undersized with little room between it and the commons.  The new grand entrance is designed with a high vaulted ceiling that opens the space and brings natural light further into the school.  The procession through the main entrance is flanked by office administration and a new classroom until, ultimately, it culminates at the newly updated student commons area.

Papillion La Vista High school is a Class A school and in need of updated athletic facilities.  A new swimming pool with spectator seating was added along with a new, synthetic football/soccer field.  Additionally, offices, classrooms, music spaces, an expanded cafeteria with servery, and a student entrance were provided to give the school more space to grow.
