St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Phase 1

Gretna, NE

2010 Completion

$4.3 Million

St. Charles Borromeo is the newest parish in the Omaha Archdiocese. Over the years the city of Omaha has continued to grow, creating a need for a parish to serve Catholics in the western deanery.

The mission statement of this parish is to be Christ for one another by living the command of Jesus: “As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” – John 13:34b,35. Their focus is to develop a spirit of Christian community among their members. BCDM Architects worked with Parish representatives to develop a Master Plan for the church that would support this mission statement. The Master Plan includes a three-unit K-8 grade school, a 1,200-seat church, gymnasium, and a social hall on a 20 acre site.

Phase I of the Master Plan has been completed. This phase includes the social hall, which is temporarily serving as the worship space, the gymnasium acting as a temporary social hall, a warming kitchen, and temporary offices.
