St. Mark Catholic Church

Oro Valley, AZ

2013 Completion

$6.8 Million

St. Mark Catholic Church has a mission to advance spiritual growth through lifelong learning and to share a commitment to living the Gospel of Christ by welcoming all, celebrating the sacraments, and serving others. Due to rapid population growth in the Oro Valley area, the diocese purchased land with an existing home in 1999 to be the home of St. Mark Catholic Church. Over the years, the parish grew and new economical facilities were built to accommodate the church. A vision to create a large facility to accommodate the growing needs of the church was formed and funds were raised to build the new church.

A church is more than just a building; it is comprised of members who are the “living stones” that breathe life into the mission of the church. BCDM Architects designed a worship facility to support the mission and life of the church. Phase I of this facility included a church with an 800-seat capacity that is capable of expanding to 1,200 seats in the future.  This building will eventually be linked to a Social Hall/Meeting Room building and a Parish Office/Religious Education building through a central courtyard.
