Honoring a Legacy, Designing for the Future
Originally constructed in 1970, Lyle Buell Stadium has long served as a cornerstone for Millard Public Schools, hosting generations of athletes, musicians, and community members. BCDM was proud to help reimagine this historied facility to meet the evolving needs of the district’s three high schools—Millard North, Millard South, and Millard West. The design not only preserves Buell Stadium’s legacy but also elevates it into a dynamic, state-of-the-art environment that provides each school with a true home-field advantage while sharing one unified space.

Expanded Functionality and a Student-Centered Experience
The renovation and 2,240-square-foot addition to the stadium’s press box addressed both operational and programmatic needs, while introducing a modern façade that complements the existing structure and leaves a lasting impression.
The game day experience was elevated through integrated lighting on the building façade and overhead doors that enhance the visual and audio capabilities for media and press teams. Morrissey Engineering, recipient of an ACEC Nebraska Engineering Excellence Honor Award for their contributions to the project, collaborated with students to create programmable light shows that celebrate the unique spirit of each high school.
